This page explains what happens to your email address when you subscribe to The Alchemist Letter.
The one deciding what happens to it is The Alchemist Letter, not the platform hosting this blog. The platform — BABINI E FASSINA TREINAMENTOS EM INFORMATICA LTDA., CNPJ 12.651.460/0001-69 — stores the data and sends the messages on The Alchemist Letter's instruction, and uses this list for no purpose of its own.
1. What is collected
- Your email address.
- The language you prefer to receive.
- The topics you chose to follow.
- Your consents, recorded separately: receiving the newsletter, receiving promotional messages, and having content personalised to your interests.
- The date you confirmed your subscription.
None of it is asked out of curiosity: without the address there is no delivery, without the language the message arrives in the wrong one, and without the topics the selection would be identical for everyone.
2. Confirmation before the first send
When you sign up you receive an email asking you to confirm, and the newsletter starts only after you click it. If someone signs your address up without your knowledge, ignoring that message is enough: nothing else is sent.
3. Measurement
Messages measure delivery, opens and clicks. Concretely: the message carries a one-pixel image that loads when you open it, and links pass through a redirect before their final destination.
This tells The Alchemist Letter what was read. The data is not sold and is not used for advertising. If your mail client blocks images, the open is not recorded.
4. Leaving the list
Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works without signing in and without explaining yourself, for 90 days from the send. Leaving takes effect immediately.
If you report the message as spam you are removed from this list — and only this one. If you follow other blogs on the same platform, they continue.
5. How long
For as long as the subscription lasts. After unsubscribing, the record that you left remains, so you are not added back by mistake. If you would rather erase that record too, ask.
6. Your rights
Brazilian data protection law (LGPD) entitles you to access, correct, port and delete your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Readers in the European Union hold equivalent rights under the GDPR. Reply to any email you received from this blog — the reply reaches whoever publishes it.
